Yesterday saw a field day of crucial importance for the future of Soil Olive. In collaboration with Jaencoop, a new phase of technical trials has begun with the installation of hydro-infiltrators on selected farms in the municipalities of Villanueva del Arzobispo and Sorihuela del Guadalimar. These municipalities thus become key hubs where the olive-growing tradition meets the cutting edge of environmental regeneration.
The implementation of this technology is a decisive step in the project’s working methodology, as it allows the soil’s infiltration capacity to be monitored with scientific precision. The aim is to optimise rainwater capture and improve the olive grove’s water resilience, designing management strategies that transform the soil into a natural ‘sponge’ capable of reducing runoff and combating erosion.
This progress would not have been possible without the support and direct involvement of Cooperativa De la Vera Cruz, Hiroomfitrador, Excavaciones Ramón Anaya and Jaencoop. Thanks to this shared commitment, Soil Olive continues to work towards establishing a healthier and more sustainable model for Mediterranean olive groves.
