These sessions, aimed at farmers, aim to provide information on the implementation of sustainable practices and improvement of olive grove soils.

In Spain, the sessions will be held in different locations in Jaén, Córdoba, Málaga and Badajoz. Sessions have also been scheduled in Italy and Portugal.

As part of this activity, Deoleo’s sustainability experts have reported on the European project Soil O-Live and the need to implement sustainable practices for the care of the environment.

It is one of the main projects of the European Union and is coordinated by the University of Jaén, with the participation of 17 national and international partners.

Today is World Soil Day and one of the objectives of the European Union’s Soil Mission is to achieve at least 75% of all European soils to be healthy by 2023.

This initiative, led by the University of Jaén, is precisely analyzing the state of health of olive grove soils and their impact on olive oil.

This meeting will be held in online format from November 15 to 17.

Dr. Vassilis Gkisakis, researcher of Elgo-Dimitra, Greek partner of the European project Soil O-Live, has visited Guanxi province, located in Southern China.

This training has been developed in the framework of a collaboration between the two most important olive biodiveristy research projects in Europe today, Olivares Vivos + (Life Program) and Soil O-live (Eu Soil Mission, Horizon Europe).

Farmers from the town of Los Santos de Maimona, in Badajoz, have been trained in sustainable production and the importance of plant cover, with the help of the company Deoleo.

The company Deoleo organizes tomorrow, in the framework of the European project Soil O-Live, a specific training on sustainability.
