Researchers from Soil O-Live, led by its coordinator Antonio Manzaneda, are participating in the II Soil Mission Week, which is being held this week in Brussels (Belgium). The scientists have presented the results of the first phase of the project, in which a soil diagnosis of the Mediterranean olive grove has been carried out after the analysis of more than 500 soil samples from 52 farms in Spain, Greece, Portugal, Italy and Morocco. In addition to this analysis, they have also announced the training activities that have been carried out to promote the sustainability of olive growing among farmers, more than a dozen, in different municipalities in Spain and Portugal.
The II Soil Mission Week is an annual event aimed at promoting the Horizon Europe Mission ‘A Soil Pact for Europe’ (Soil Mission), raising awareness of the importance of soil health and promoting actions to protect, restore and maintain healthy soils in the EU.
