Soil Olive, present at the first day of the Olive Oil World Congress

The European Soil Olive project was present on the first day of the Olive Oil World Congress through the participation of its coordinator, Antonio Manzaneda, and the mention of Jaime Lillo, the executive director of the International Olive Oil Council (IOC).Manzaneda participated in one of the round tables on ‘Challenges in manufacturing processes: Digital transformation and valorisation of by-products’, in which they discussed the technological innovations that are revolutionising the olive oil industry, addressing issues such as the digitalisation of manufacturing processes, optimisation of the use of resources, and strategies for converting by-products into added value elements.

This congress, which is being held at the CSIC headquarters in Madrid, has addressed some of the most important issues of concern to the sector today, such as climate change, lack of water, the circularity of production and new genetics that are representing a major change in olive growing around the world.
This Congress is organised in collaboration with the International Olive Council (IOC), CIHEAM Zaragoza and the Mediterranean Diet Foundation.
